0826 Meeting

August 26th, 6:30pm
Burbank Senior Artists Colony Auditorium
HEALTH CARE FOR ALL!

A renewed fight this month in the state Assembly for single-payer health care is the topic of guest Michelle Farmer next Thursday, Aug. 26 for the monthly Burbank Democratic Club regular meeting.

Farmer, with California One Care, will talk about the pending push for SB 810 at the club meeting from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Burbank Senior Artists Colony Theatre, 240 East Verdugo Ave. at San Fernando Road in Burbank, 91503. The auditorium is on the second floor, look for signs.

A single-payer bill for the state has cleared the Legislature twice, but been vetoed each time by Gov. Schwarzenegger. “SB 810 would deliver comprehensive healthcare to everyone and it would save Californians tens of billions of dollars,” the One Care group says. “It will do what the national health plan does not — cover everyone and contain health care costs. It will set the standard for the rest of the nation.”

Latest news for the social fundraiser Sept. 25, and crewing the Democratic Party booth at the county fair Oct. 3 will also be topics.
